PER 294 is a DHS/FEMA-certified, 8-hour, tuition-free, performance level
course designed with a proactive approach to testing the
Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs) of rural communities in an
Emergency Operations Center (EOC) environment. EOPs are all hazard
plans developed for use by state and local jurisdictions to
ensure a coordinated and effective response to natural, technological,
or man-made disasters that may occur within an area. It serves as the
“game plan” for those who will be tasked with responding to an incident.
Testing these plans on a routine basis is critical to their effectiveness.
