A course sponsored by the TAHP committee and taught by the National Center on Biomedical Research and Training from LSU. The course will provide medium to high level decision makes with comprehensive planning tools to mitigate impacts on communities during large scale incidents.  This courses examines the need for collaboration among responders in a community-wide disaster response. The NCBRT will deliver training through a combination of facilitated discussion, hands-on training and traditional classroom style instruction.  Recognizing that response to disasters differs by locale, the course is designed to be tailored based on local participant needs.  Participants will receive 15.5 contact hours of continuing nursing education for participants in the entire program and completing the evaluation.  Target audience includes the healthcare provider community and responders to healthcare incidents.  Traditional first responders and agencies that do not have a traditional response role but may have one in the event of a large-scale incident should attend this course.  Participants from the following groups are encouraged to attend:  healthcare, public safety, public health and emergency preparedness.
